Managing Director
Garrett is a Managing Director at Raine. He helps lead the firm’s principal investments and advisory assignments in the sports and real money gaming sectors.
While at Raine, Garrett has executed numerous investments and advisory assignments, helping clients and portfolio partners develop and execute on their growth strategies. Notable engagements include Raine’s investment in DraftKings beginning in 2014 and continued work alongside DraftKings’ management on major M&A opportunities, such as DraftKings’ business combination with SBTech and its acquisition of Golden Nugget Online Gaming; long-term advisory relationship with Endeavor, including both the $4bn sale of UFC to Endeavor and Endeavor’s acquisition of OpenBet; the sale of the MLS’ New York City expansion franchise (NYCFC); the sale of a $1.6bn minority stake in Manchester United to Sir Jim Ratcliffe; the $750mm sale of Jackpocket to DraftKings; and many additional capital raises and M&A opportunities across the sports and real money gaming sectors.
Garrett also helps lead Raine’s investing efforts within Raine’s dedicated Gaming Fund, with recent investments including Jackpocket, Midnite (where he serves on the board of directors) and Fliff (where he serves on the board of directors).
Garrett has a B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
