Cesar is a Managing Director at Raine.
Prior to Raine, Cesar was an executive director of UBS Investment Bank’s China team, based in Hong Kong. His main focus was to extend the depth of China client coverage, focusing on conglomerates, new economy, financial sponsors and healthcare. Cesar led Legend Holdings’ (Parent of Lenovo) $2 billion IPO on the HKSE, several investments of UBS into DiDi Chuxing, Fosun International’s $500 million convertible bond issuance and $500 million rights issuance, Shanghai Pharmaceuticals’ RMB 4.5 billion bond issuance, the privatization of Focus Media and other major capital market deals. He also advised on Haier’s $790 million acquisition of Fisher and Paykel, and a number of high profile China cross border M&A transactions. Prior to UBS, Cesar worked at Hopu Investment and closed a number of deals including a $7.5 billion investment in China Construction Bank, a $500 million investment in Mengniu Dairy and M&A deals including CNOOC’s acquisition of Argentina’s Bridas Energy Holdings for $2.5 billion.
Cesar has an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. Prior to Columbia, he worked at Li & Partners LLP as a legal advisor. He obtained his law and business administration degree from Keele University and post graduate degree from The College of Law, both in the UK.
